Gaining critical understandings of issues in curatorship, museology and museum management. Considering the history of museums and contemporary engagement. Looking at Online Engagement – having to adapt a social history exhibition plan I was able to present the exhibition plan as a result of the pandemic allowed me to explore online virtual reality platforms. As well as Urban Heritage – looking at how we can manage urban heritage, considering the town as a museum.
In addition, I took several modules examining Contemporary art and the Museum – looking at how contemporary art installations in a heritage context can be used as a springboard to new and innovative understandings of heritage sites. My dissertation, however, focused on the conflict between community and heritage Looking specifically at historic churches in Wales, and how they can be utilised as valuable community assets without the destruction of heritage.
Studied a variety of disciplines including Darkroom Photography and Painting. Choosing to specialise in Painting creating a series of historically inspired work based from the Old College Aberystwyth, as well as studying modules in related areas such as Art History, Curation, Creative Arts and professional practice.
